Shooting Day!

Image
On Wednesday 24th October 2018, I filmed a large portion of my show. The scene consisted of my main character: Tanya and her childhood friend, Sophie; they are seen to be conversing as they overlook the river. I would say that the shoot went well, as I was able to get the majority of my filming done for my sequence. I was able to get the a lot of the shots that i wanted, and was able to take multiple takes to fix any errors. One problem that did occur was the fact that the lighting quickly changes towards of the end of the filming which I will have to change post-production. Also, my actors were faced away from the light, due to the location, which meant that their faces and facial expressions may not be as bright and clear as i wanted it - again something i may change whilst editing. The setting took place in an alleyway with an opening that overlooked the river as well as a university. This meant that for continuity I had to make sure that no punts were going past or having ...

Process of the Magazine

Image
My initial mindmap for when I started thinking about my lifestyle magazine: Layout ideas for the double page spread: This time much more refined: Idea for the front cover:  When putting my magazine together I went through a series of editing, rearranging and changing text colours and fonts. Above are some of the 'in progress' magazine front cover, where I was still adding new copy and articles etc.

Final Script

Fades in from black Everything is quiet, still and empty. It is dark as it falls to the evening time, children go to bed and the busyness of the day has past. You see establishing shots of a field, a park, a gate and a to the swimming pool - mainly long shots as they zoom in. The air is quiet, just the breeze and distant noises can be heard. Tense, slow music kicks in to build up tension alongside the slow zooming. As the scenes has finally zoomed in slowly, you come to a body. She is laying on her side besides a swimming pool. Her blood pours into the pool with a deep red as she bleeds out. We don't know how long she has been there but it's quiet a sight. Her hand lay over the side of the pool, dangling and dripping with blood. (Graphic matches into next scene) 1. THERAPY - MIDDAY You see a close-up of a bunch of flowers in a vase, however they have wilted and droop down - similar to how the hand was drooped over the edge of the pool. There is a tank of fish in the c...

Shooting Disaster!

Image
On Wednesday 10th October I had scheduled to film a large portion of my programme, the murder - which is the main drive and conflict of the sequence; however I was not able to do this due to my lack of planning. Everything was fine: my cast and crew was there, I had collected the camera equipment and had set up, but what I lacked was access of the setting, which was a park. Originally when I was location scouting I had visited a nearby park to school (walking-distance) at about 1pm where I saw that the park was completely empty and a perfect place to film. In terms of my sequence it had a variety of classic equipment like swings, slides, round-a-bouts etc, as well as novelties of trampolines and climbing equipment. All of these play equipment seemed great fit for my show because it was be an eerie contrast to someone being murdered, especially as the characters are originally reminiscing about their memories their. The park itself was cramped with all sorts of toys, and nearby there ...

Script #2

PARK - DARK Fades in from black Its dark, evening time - you see a long establishing shot of a playground, there are swings, a roundabout and a slide. Everything is still as quiet as the playground is all alone. You see the swing moving the wind, gentle swings. Back and forth, back and forth. It moves as if someone had just been there. The air is quiet, just the quiet breeze and distant noises can be heard. The camera zooms in with every shot. You see a shot of the slide, the climbing frames, and finally the roundabout. Over the shoulder shot of a girl with ginger hair, she walks towards the round-a-bout (tracking shot, medium shot).  There's a wide shot as she takes a second and then gets onto the round-a-bout and slowly starts spinning on it. You see her placing he foot down and pushing down, cautiously and slowly.  As she spins she starts humming - the only thing that can be heard.  After a while there is a slight ringing (edited in afterwards?) whi...
